1. ISTE Student Standards
ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) is a national organization for developing and setting standards and policies for contemporary best practices in 21st Century Teaching and Learning. St. Robert has adopted the ISTE NETS (National Education Technology Standards) for Students to serve as an umbrella set of guidelines encompassing all content areas. The ISTE Net standards serve as the framework for integrating 21st Century Learning into the St. Robert curriculum. 2. Goals and Objectives
St Robert School has identified goals and objectives to include in its Technology Plan. This draft document will serve as a starting point for discussion and collaboration between administration and staff. 3. St Robert SMART (Staff Matrix for Assimilating Resources and Technology)Guide
The St Robert SMART Guide is a tiered matrix that will be used to outline future staff professional development and meet the needs of the professional staff at St Robert as life-long learners and 21st Century Educators. 4. St Robert Technology Skills by Grade Level
St. Robert School is developing a grade-level technology skill matrix to insure that our students are progressing developmentally with regards to the technology 'operations and concepts' as defined by the ISTE NET-S standards. The draft (by grade level) Technology Skills documents included in this plan will identify 21st Century vocabulary, basic concepts, projects and digital citizenship and align them to the ISTE Standards. 5. Essential Conditions
The Essential Conditions framework, developed by ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education), is used to identify the essential elements a school must have in place in order to move forward with a well-developed technology integration program. It is an fundamental tool for any school to use to identify strengths and weaknesses in their technology adoption and adaptation plan. 6. Traditional vs 21st Century Learners
As a 21st Century School, St Robert is cognizant of the differences between a 'traditional' classroom and a 21st Century Learning environment. And, with the influence of technology on all our lives, we are also aware of how students today learn differently compared to our own classroom experiences. This information about 'digital natives' of today can lead and guide instruction in the classroom to engage TODAY's students and enhance understanding. 7. Cybersmart Internet Safety and Resource Curriculum
CyberSmart! prepares students to use the Internet for communication, creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving—the new basic skills for 21st century learning. This K-12 curriculum is developed for each grade level and is structured around the following topics: Safety, Manners, Authentic Learning, Research and Twenty-First Century challenges. Milestones for Improving Learning and Education (The "Mile Guide") is a unique self-analysis tool to help schools and districts evaluate where they are on the road to being a 21st century learning environments. Included in this collection are Acceptable Use Agreements for staff and students, and a Staff User Agreement receipt for laptops.
